Lipstick plants normally grow in
the decaying vegetation that accumulates in tree forks and crevices in the
tropical rain forests.Lipstick plants are normally grown
commercially in hanging baskets, where their cascading stems are quite
attractive. They get their name from the flowers which resemble an
open tube of lipstick. The 1.5 inch leaves may vary in color from
dark green to variegated according to the different varieties.
Lipstick plants like high light
levels but not direct sun which may burn the foliage.A potting
soil that is rich in organic matter is perfect for this plant. The
Lipstick plant likes warm temperatures and may have damage if the temperature
drops below 50 degrees F.For best results try to keep the potting
medium evenly moist but not saturated, as the roots may rot if kept to
wet.
This variety has a light
variegation to the foliage which may disappear in too much shade.
This plant is in a 2.5 inch
pot.
Plants are shipped USPS Priority
