Munstead Lavender is the best of the English Lavenders for tolerating summer heat. Munstead lavender is compact and early flowering. It has a strong scent and small leaves.
Lavender plants will tolerate many growing conditions, but it thrives in warm, well drainedsoil and full sun. It is dampness, more than cold, that is responsible for killing lavender plants. Dampness can come from wet roots during the winter months or high humidity in the summer. Space your plants to allow for good air flow and in a sunny location.
